Overview

The 2026 Canadian Esports Championships is a nationally sanctioned virtual cycling competition organized by Cycling Canada in partnership with Leadout Esports. This annual event is hosted on the Zwift indoor cycling platform, providing a digital racing experience that mirrors the intensity and strategy of in real life cycling.

2026 will be the 5th year Cycling Canada has hosted a Canadian Esports Championships and the commitment to virtual competition continues to expand. Since 2022, Cycling Canada has added weekly group rides, Team Canada rides, fondos and a time trial series. The Canadian Esports Championships is Canada's premier esports cycling event, designed to crown national champions across multiple age and gender categories. It combines the accessibility of virtual racing with the rigor of competitive cycling standards, ensuring fair play and high performance through strict verification protocols and technical requirements.

Eligibility

This championship is open to:

  • Canadian Citizens, permanent residents, landed immigrants, and individuals with refugee status.
  • Riders holding a valid Cycling Canada membership.
  • Competitors across all levels—from U17 and Junior athletes to Elite and Masters categories—who want to test their skills in a national-level esports environment.

Participants must also maintain a Zwift membership, complete pre-event verification and adhere to equipment standards to ensure integrity and fairness.
